ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, February 19, 2011 – Grenada’s national senior team will
play two friendlies against St Kitts and Nevis in preparation for the CONCACAF
Gold Cup scheduled for the United States in June.
The friendlies will be played in Basseterre
on March 26 and at the National Stadium in St George’s on April 1.
This will be the national team’s first outing
since qualifying for the Gold Cup.
The game at the National Stadium is scheduled
for 7:00 p.m.
The Spice Boyz, which began training last
week under the guidance of Mike Adams, will be looking for good fortunes in
preparation for the Gold Cup.
Adams has invited a number of local-based
players who participated in the recent Digicel Caribbean Cup in Martinique.
The squad will be completed by overseas-based
players including Ricky Charles, Patrick Modeste, Anthony Modeste and Kitson
Bain who are on assignment in Antigua.
Also included are English-based players
Delroy Facey, Byron and Bradley Bubb and David Cyrus and US-based Craig
Rocastle and Shalrie Joseph.
President of the Grenada Football Association
(GFA), Cheney Joseph said that talks are being held with other national
associations to secure more friendlies before the team departs for the United
States.
