Another very successful Inter Secondary Schools’ Cross Country

St.David's Catholic Secondary School proved unbeatable in the female division in third Cross Country Run held last Saturday 18th October, 2008 at Telescope, St Andrew's.

Over one hundred and fifty (150) athletes took to the road and were well supported by the Telescope community.

At the end, the girls from St. David's Catholic Secondary School won the top three positions. Defending Champion in the girls' category, Nerina Aberdeen gave another superb performance by covering the distance in a winning time of twenty four minutes, fifty eight seconds (24.58 secs).

The second spot went to her sister Nerine Aberdeen in a time of twenty five minutes, thirty eight seconds (25.38 secs) and placing third was Manrisa Lalgie in twenty six minutes, eighteen seconds (26.18 secs). Their coach Ms Dennis Williams was elated with the team performance.

In the boys' category, Reon Radix from TAMCC led from the start to the finish giving the supporters on the route much to cheer about as he clocked an impressive time of twenty one minutes, twenty six seconds, (21.26secs).

Finishing second was Sherwin Paul from St. David's Catholic Secondary, in a time of twenty two minutes, thirty five seconds (22.35secs) and third was Michael Downes from St. Rose Modern Secondary in twenty three minutes thirty three seconds (26.33secs).

It was another consecutive team victory for the St. David's in both divisions.

The final Cross Country Run will be held in St. Mark's on Saturday 1st November 2008 from 3p.m.
