LONDON, UK, January 30, 2012 - Sky Sports understands Watford and Peterborough are chasing Aldershot
defender Anthony Straker.
Straker has established himself as one of the
best players in the lower leagues with a number of impressive performances.
The Grenada international has made over 150
appearances for Aldershot and has established himself as one of the leading
full-backs in League Two.
Scouts have been flocking to the The EEB Stadium to
cast an eye over Straker and the full-back could only have impressed with both
goals in Saturday's win over AFC Wimbledon.
The 23-year-old is in the final six months of his
contract and has yet to agree an extension, alerting Watford and
Peterborough.
Aldershot would be loathe to lose Straker, but they
would find it hard to resist a big-money offer for the player if any of his
suitors firm up their interest before the close of the transfer window.
