An
Argentina based helicopter made an emergency landing on the
playing field of “Nahoe” in Petite Martinique on Thursday morning due to
“mechanical problems.”
Pilot Eric Ortiz reported
that he was forced to make the emergency landing, just before ten in the
morning, as a result of the loss of oil that lubricates the main transmission
of the helicopter.
The helicopter, which is
used as an air ambulance, was at the time en route to Tobago from St. Lucia
when it began experiencing difficulties.
None of the four persons
(all Argentinians) on board sustained injuries.
The helicopter has since
been moved to the Lauriston Airport, Carriacou following repair work.
