TEXAS,
December 16, 2011 - Grenadian students Emma Gay and Joel
Donnell Thomas both earned masters’ degrees at Midwestern State University’s December
2011 Commencement exercises last Saturday.
They were part of a group of 20 Caribbean students who also walked the
stage.
Gay earned a master
of business administration degree. She
earned a baccalaureate in the same discipline 18 months ago.
Thomas earned a
master of arts in human resource development.
He previously earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Spanish two
years ago.
Over 150 Grenadian
students have earned degrees from Midwestern since 1995 and fifty-five students
are currently enrolled.
Two new students
from Grenada will be accepted to Midwestern State University in January 2012, and
twelve more will be accepted in August 2012.
They will be part
of the over one thousand who have been recruited from the Caribbean in the 18-year
history of the programme. The Government of Grenada provides support to the
programme.
