HILLSBOROUGH, Carriacou, October 28th, 2011 - The Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs is pleased
with progress on a small community project in Petite Martinique that is
employing nine workers.
Senator
George Prime, along with Acting Permanent Secretary Javan Williams, recently
visited Petite Martinique and toured several communities, including Madame
Pierre where 450ft of concrete road and drains are being built by Rohan Thomas
Construction.
Sen. Prime
promised that Government, through the Public Works Division of the Ministry of
Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, will continue to improve the road
network throughout the twin islands.
In Petite
Martinique alone, this year Government is spending more than $75,000 on road
rehabilitation.
Meanwhile,
to assist with the flow of water in an area known as Morne, a box drain has
been constructed in the community. In addition, the Agriculture Division is
cutting and clearing a round-the-island road.
