BEIJING, China, September 2, 2011 - The Embassy of Grenada in Beijing on Thursday welcomed
five new Grenadian students who will be pursuing studies in the People’s
Republic of China.
Christopher
Mignon, Chad Bartholomew, Coy Gibbs, Karrym Forsyth and Dr. Terron Hosten were
greeted by Embassy staff who welcomed them to China and encouraged them to be
diligent in their pursuit of their various areas of study.
They
were reminded that their time here is also representative of Grenadian values,
culture and interests.
Ambassador
Her Excellency Marcelle Gairy, who previously met and addressed the students in
Grenada, exhorted them to take full advantage of the opportunities they had
been given to study in China during its rapid rise as a global power.
Ambassador
Gairy also encouraged them to use Kirani James’ dedication and willingness to
make the extra effort to succeed when necessary, as a model for success in
China.
The
students will be pursuing degrees in the following areas: Mignon in Computer
Science and Technology; Bartholomew in Natural Disasters; Gibbs in
Telecommunications Engineering, Forsyth in Agronomy and Hosten will pursue
advanced studies in Surgery.
The
Government of Grenada in its commitment to provide advanced educational
opportunities for Grenadian citizens wishes these students success in their
endeavors and look forward to their return and contribution to the continued
