CARACAS, Venezuela, April 7, 2011 - Two Grenadian students recently graduated from a Venezuelan University after completing studies in sports related fields.
Edmond Mc Sween of St George and Denva Welch of St Mark completed bachelor degrees at the Universidad Deportiva del Sur and are preparing to return home to make their contributions to the development to Grenada.
Mc Sween graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Sports Administration Technology while Welch completed a Bachelor of Science in Physical Activities and Health.
Grenada’s Ambassador to Venezuela, His Excellency George Mac Leish congratulated both students on their achievements, noting their specialized areas of training.
“Your qualifications are timely since Grenada continues to produce world-class junior athletes and we would need professional administrators and coaches to provide support,” he said.

The technological advances in sports demands that you continue the pursuit of post graduate degrees. The better qualified you are will determine the quality of preparation for our athletes.”

The graduate will be able to research and develop technologies needed to improve the quality of life through sports and leisure services. The programme also includes courses in accounting, management, planning, marketing, economics, and computer applications.
The Sports Technology management programme focuses on the business aspects of sports in culture, sports information, facility management, human recourse, sport ethics, sports law and sport finance.
