Grenadian athletes posted good results at UTEP Invitational


It was a good weekend for Grenadian athletes at the UTEP Invitational in El Paso, Texas.
Janelle Redhead, Kirani James and Rondell Bartholomew all posted commendable performances.
Redhead of South Plains College won the women’s 200m in 22.91 seconds and third in the 100m in 11.50 seconds.
James of Alabama University won the 200m in 20.41 seconds, ahead of Churandy Martina of the Netherland Antilles (20.42) and Bartholomew of South Plains College (21.00).
James also ran the second leg for Alabama in winning the 4x400m Relay in 3:09.18, and the anchor leg in finishing second in the 4x100m Relay 40.81 seconds while Bartholomew also ran the anchor leg for South Plains in finishing third in 41.16 seconds.
Also of interest is Jasmine Regis, the sister professional footballer Jason Roberts, finished second in the women’s triple jump with 13.94m. Regis competed for Great Britain.
