ST GEORGE’S, May 16, 2012 - Members of the Royal Grenada Police Force Drug Unit, on Wednesday, 16th May 2012 made a major drug bust in the Levera St. Patrick area.
Approximately 300 kilos of Marijuana and Cocaine were seized as a result of an early morning operation in the St. Patrick area.
One man is presently in custody assisting the Police with their investigation.
ST GEORGE’S, May 9, 2012 - Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department have launched an investigation into the death of 13 year-old found at her Springs’ (St. George) residence on Wednesday 9th May, 2012.
The teenage Secondary School student was found in her bedroom with a scarf tied around her neck.
Another scarf tied to a small rope attached to the ceiling was also seen in the same room along with a personal diary.
A post mortem is scheduled to be performed tomorrow (Thursday 10th May, 2012) to determine the cause of death.
ST GEORGE’S, May 9, 2012 - St. David Police has realized a major breakthrough with the arrest of two local residents.
Terry Thomas, 24 years old of Marlmount, and Javon Ferguson, 22 years of Requin, both unemployed have been jointly charged for housebreaking and stealing articles valued at two hundred and twenty-six thousand and fifty dollars ($226 050.00 ECC).
Both men will appear before the Grenville Magistrate Court at 09:00 am on Thursday 10th May, 2012.
Quantities of items were reported stolen from British national James Post during the period April 29th and May 1st 2012 at La Tante, St. David.
The men were apprehended following an operation conducted by Officers attached to St. David’s Police Station during which four cordless drills, two boxes of spark plugs, one box of fuses, seventy bottles of Grand Moment wine and fourteen empty drill cases were recovered in a bushy area in La Tante, St. David. The items were amongst the following reported stolen goods:

ST GEORGE’S, May 9, 2012 - 39 years old Clive Neptune, Laborer of Grand Bras, St. Andrew is currently assisting police with their investigations following a road traffic accident which left another St. Andrew man dead on Saturday 5th May, 2012.
Sheldon John, 30 years of Lakabakae, Paradise, St. Andrew reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of being ran over by a vehicle which was driven by Neptune. The incident occurred at approximately 04:50 a.m.
John was found lying on the side of the Lakabakae road.
An autopsy report revealed that he died owing to hypovolemic shock and multiple injuries to the body as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Neptune who failed to remain at the scene of the accident has since been charged for driving without a driver’s license, driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
John’s death is the first recorded vehicular traffic related accident for the year.

GEORGE’S, March 14, 2012 – Grenada Police have charged Michael St. Louis, a 26
year-old resident of Fontenoy, St. George with attempted murder after he
allegedly used a flare gun to shoot another man.
The incident reportedly occurred following
an altercation stemming from a gambling game outside a Club commonly known as “The Peas” at the Fence, in Happy
Hill, St. George sometime after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday 10th
March, 2012.
The victim, Miguel Timothy Baptiste, 37 years-old
resident of Happy Hill, St. George was shot in his abdomen which resulted in
him seeking medical attention at the General Hospital.
St. Louis has
been granted bail in the sum of thirty-thousand dollars with two sureties and
is due to appear before the St. George’s Magistrate Court on May 15th,
2012.
ST GEORGE’S, March 2, 2012 - Victor Vesprey, alias “Small”, 32 yrs old,
Fisherman, resident of Carriacou has been charged for Murder in the death of
Devon Chitan, 25 yrs old unemployed resident of Moyah, St. Andrew, according to Grenada Police.
The partially decomposed body of Chitan was recovered from the Point
Systan beach in L’Esterre, Carriacou at about 4:00 p.m. on Monday 27th
February, 2012 with a laceration on the left side of his neck and a bruise on
the left side of his waist.
An autopsy revealed that he died as a result of hypovolemic shock due
to excessive bleeding. He reportedly died on February 24th
Vesprey will make his first Court appearance on Monday 5th
March, 2012 at the Gouyave Magistrate Court at 9:00 a.m.

VESPREY, wanted for
questioning in connection with the death of 25 year-old Devon Chitan of Moyah,
St. Andrew, was located by police on Tuesday 28th February, 2012 sometime after 4:00 p.m. in
Belmont, Carriacou.
Police mounted a manhunt for VESPREY after he reportedly confessed
to killing a man. He is now in police custody assisting with their
investigations.
An autopsy will be performed on the body of
Chitan on Friday 2nd March, 2012 to determine the cause of death.
Chitan’s

surrounding the death of a man whose body was recovered from the waters off Point Cistern, Carriacou on Monday 27th February, 2012.
The body is believed to be that of Devon
Chitan alias “Indian” of Moyah, St. Andrew who reportedly went missing over the
weekend.
Chitan’s body was discovered by a resident
of Lauriston, Carriacou who was in the process of having a sea bath.

NEW YORK, May 19, 2011 – Grenada became the 115th
nation to join the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Her Excellency Ambassador Dessima Williams, Permanent Representative
to the United Nations on Thursday deposited Grenada’s Instrument of Accession
to the Rome Statute of the ICC at a small ceremony at the Office of Legal
Affairs of the United Nations in New York.
Grenada’s accession brings to 26, the number of States Parties of the
ICC in Latin America and the Caribbean and the last among the Organisation of
Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Only The Bahamas, Haiti and Jamaica in the
Caribbean have not joined the ICC.
Ambassador Williams said: “The Government of Grenada is very pleased
to join with many other CARICOM countries as well as 114 other members of the
United Nations in acceding to this statute.”
“We look forward to being a very vigorous participant in the
implementation of the Court to the extent that we could therefore bring about
greater international law and order in the service of humanity for justice, for
rights and for the efficient and legal administration of international
affairs,” said Ambassador Williams.
His Excellency Ambassador Christian Wenaweser, Permanent
Representative of the Principality of Liechtenstein and President of the Bureau
of the Assembly of States Parties to the ICC welcomed Grenada’s accession to
the Court and appealed to the remaining CARICOM states to join the ICC family.
“On behalf of 114 states that have so far made up this assembly it’s a
great honour to welcome you (Grenada) as the 115th member to this
assembly and that’s a very important further step on our part towards a
universalisation of this Court,” he said.
“We are looking forward toward welcoming the three remaining states of
CARICOM also as part of the ICC family.
The Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) said that Grenada’s
accession confirms and reinforces the Caribbean’s important role in making the
ICC a lasting and effective reality.
ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, May 5, 2010 – The man charged with the
double murder of two St. Andrew residents will make his first appearance in the
Grenville Magistrate Court
on Thursday.
Police on Wednesday charged Steve Gorrie, 36, a
Machine Operator and resident of Birchgrove, St. Andrew for the murders of
Clyde Greenidge and Christopher Stafford.
“At approximately 5.40 pm on Monday 3rd May 2010,
Gorrie entered the Grenville Police Station and placed a white plastic bucket
containing the heads of two male persons on the counter,” according to a Police
statement.
Police later identified the heads to be that of Clyde
Greenidge, a Farmer/Proprietor of Birchgrove, St. Andrew and Christopher
Stafford, a Labourer of Byelands, St. Andrew.
Officers from the
C.I.D and Grenville Police Station later discovered the bodies of Greenidge and
Stafford on a farm owned by Clyde Greenidge in
Balthazar, St. Andrew.

1, 2010 - A FATHER has paid tribute to his "adventurous" son who died
after being found bleeding to death in Walthamstow.
Elvin Francis,
59, said his 26-year-old son, Kelvin, was on a one-month holiday in London when he died after
being found outside the Captain Fish & Chip shop in Walthamstow, on March
7.
A man was
subsequently charged with his murder and is due to appear in court in June.
Speaking from
the family home in Grenada
in the Caribbean, the father-of-five said: “We
are trying to cope but it is not very easy. We are taking it step by step, one
day at a time."
The construction
worker said his son, who was a driver, was an outgoing and adventurous young
man who had been to London
before and wanted to travel.
He said: “He was
a very outgoing person, energetic, friendly and courteous. He was a person that
everyone liked.
"He was an
admirable person. He was very close to his brothers and sisters and they miss
him terribly. It is a great loss.”
Mr Francis said
his wife heard an announcement on the radio that the couple needed to contact
the criminal investigation unit in Grenada, and then found out the
terrible news that their son had died.
Mr Francis said:
“From that moment it has been a terrible shock. I cannot find the words to
express how I felt at that moment.”
David Kazim, 23,
of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder of Kelvin Francis and has
been remanded in custody.
Lisa Donegan,
21, of Lordship Lane,
Wood Green, is accused of perverting the cause of justice.
Both have been
remanded until June 18, when they are due to enter a plea at the Old Bailey.

NEW YORK, Aug 27, 2009 - A 49-year-old Grenadian man has been arrested and charged by Police in Washington, D.C. for the alleged possession of illegal drugs.
The Washington Post reported that Winston Williams was earlier this month indicted on charges of unlawfully possessing marijuana with the intent to distribute it.
According to the paper, Police seized more than 80 pounds of marijuana and nearly US$40,000 in cash in two separate raids at properties belonging to Williams.
Reports in Grenada said that Williams is the brother of Grenada’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Dr. Dessima Williams.
In a brief statement on behalf of the family, Ambassador Williams said that the family is shocked and saddened about the allegations but concerned as family about the welfare of his wife and children and about his health.
“While we hope he is proven innocent we are also aware that this is a legal matter and as such there will be no further comment," the statement said.

Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department arrested and charged Randy Emanuel Patrick Ash and Kevina Baldeau for a number of fraud related offenses.
Ash – 29 years old and Baldeau – 23 years old, both residents of River Road in St. George’s were detained on Friday 19th October 2007, and formally charged over the week end.
Both Ash & Balbeau are expected to make their first court appearance on Tuesday 23rd. October 2007 at the St. George’s Magistrate Court.
The charges laid against the arrested persons include robbery with violence, burglary, forgery, uttering forge documents and fraud.
The couple was also jointly charged for defrauding the Siesta Company of Morne Rouge St. George’s the sum of EC $11,900.00.
Meanwhile, Officers of the Drug Squad on Sunday 21st October 2007 arrested and charged four persons in Belmont St. George’s for being in possession of ammunition and quantity of cured cannabis.
The Drug Squad operation led to the search of a Belmont residence, and 7 ½ ounces of cannabis, six rounds of .380 ammunition, two 12 gauge cartages and a fire arm were discovered.
Patrick Delves – 52 year old Herbalist of Belmont, Ricky Williams - 30 year old Mason of Belmont, Skeita Alexander - 41 year old Beach Vender of La Sagesse in St. David and Christiana Williams – 20 year old Belmont resident were arrested.
The four persons were charged for being in possession of a controlled drug, with intent to traffic and being in possession of ammunition.
The arrested persons appeared before the St. George’s Magistrate Court this Monday morning – October 22nd 2007 – were granted bail and is scheduled to reappear on Tuesday October 30th 2007.
Police continues its investigation and charges of possession of a firearm could be laid against the four persons.
