ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, April 2, 2009 – St. David's Catholic Secondary School (SDCSS) retained the girls' title of the Scotiabank Inter-Secondary Schools' Athletics Championship for a record 11th consecutive year while McDonald College (MDC) regained the boys' championship.
SDCSS amassed 137 points, 62 more than their nearest finisher, St. Andrew's Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) on 75 points to win easily and register an 11th title - the most by any individual school.
Junior girls Antonia Wilson and Lucy Fortune were outstanding for SDCSS with the former totaling 14 points along with Nickhelia John of SAASS while Fortune finished with 12 points in the individual championship.
MDC gained crucial points by winning both senior boys' relays with Rondell Bartholomew playing leading roles. He ran splendid final leg to win the 4x100m relay and then gave MDC a sizeable lead in the 4x400m relay to ensure victory and the championship.
MDC, who lost the title to SAASS in 2008, finished on 89 points, with the Grenada Boys' Secondary School (GBSS) taking the second spot on 70 points and
