Dear
Fellow Grenadians and Friends,
I
write to express our solidarity with you as Hurricane Irene approaches New
York, Washington D.C. and other areas which have known concentrations of
Grenadians and other Caribbean nationals.
I
wish to advise you to take all official warnings and advisories seriously.
Similarly,
I urge you to relocate to safety, if you live in an area where evacuation has
been advised.
Our
concern for you comes against the background of our own experience with
Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
We
hope and pray for your safety and that of all others residing along the seldom
visited path which this hurricane seems to be taking.
